About the Project

Dear Madams & Sirs!

Our production company Brighid Studio d.o.o. is preparing the largest documentary film project in Slovenia so far and one of the largest projects of this kind in Europe.

The film project called »Far away, among people ...« is intended to realistically, through a documentary movie / series, demonstrate the specificity of life in thinking of each country through a story of two travellers, who, together with a camera crew, embarked on a car journey to the other end of the world. On a search journey – a journey to the people. Through their stories we would like to present a story about finding oneself, finding people and their lives. With holding a belief in the existence of immense human kindness.

Why such approach?
Because we believe that these exact people are the real treasure of individual countries and states, and it may just be through the lives of the two travellers and people they are going to meet that we can feel all our differences and common points of people living in the vast area, which we plan to visit.

As you can already see from the very synopsis, we plan to visit 13 countries - from Slovenia through the Balkans, Asia and all the way to Australia. During the six to seven month project, we are planning to travel through all these countries by car, since we believe that only thus, being among people for several months, we can feel the people and their countries, and therefore authentically document and record our project.

Let us also emphasize that we are going to, along with the movie project, also publish a photo book – a literary travelogue and a making-of.

We commenced the project (organization and project preparation, series / movie pre-production) in November 2011. The estimated beginning of the travel and shooting is end of 2015. The completion of the entire project (premiere of the series / movie and the publishing of the book) is to be in end of 2016.
